Cold Loving (Work in Progress)

LYD PORT is developing COLD-LOVING – a techno-fashion-opera blending rave culture, contemporary classical music, and high-fashion aesthetics. The performance explores cold-loving creatures like glacier algae and krill as metaphors for transformation, identity, and resilience.

Costumes drive the storytelling, inspired by designers like Alexander McQueen and Iris van Herpen. Performers shift between soloists, chorus, and instrumentalists, merging the raw energy of classical music with electronic beats. The immersive format allows audiences to move freely, experiencing the synergy of rave and runway.

Inspired by sustainable art-fashion, we incorporate recycled materials and glacial imagery, reflecting both environmental impact and ephemeral beauty.

Two images showing a room with a piece of fabric suspended from the ceiling, used as a stage prop. The first image has normal lighting with two people, a man and a woman, interacting near the fabric. The second image has purple lighting, with a woman adjusting equipment while the fabric is illuminated, creating a glowing effect.
